Altered Project

Hi there! I'd like to share with you'll something from my kitchen today *hehe* when I say kitchen, literally, I don't mean a recipe! *lol* well...I actually found something in my mum's kitchen which lit up the creative light bulb in my head...or at least I think so ;)

I managed to quickly (quickly cause I'm supposed to be studying remember!) convert a hot pad (from IKEA) into a photo frame! Once put together, I fixed a lil hook at the back so I can hang my frame!

The hot pad is made out of asbestos so I didn't want to cover the back cause it blended pretty well with the background of my photo (which is of my sis and I in Bali). The lace was pleated and sewn together by me to create a border for the frame.

Embellishments handmade again and embossed with my dear darling Cuttlebug Machine! Love it to bits..! I used the swiss dots embossing folder to emboss the leaves and petals to give light texture. The butterflies are by Martha Stewart's very grand (and heavy!) Large Punch.

Materials Used:

Hot Pad (From IKEA for base of frame)
Hot Pink Lace
X-Cut 2" Scallop Circle
Carla Craft Punch: Primitive Heart, Circle
Martha Stewart Punch: Large Monarch Butterfly
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Swiss Dots
Brads: Making Memories, Hot Off The Press

I had lots of fun doing this! Hope it sparked a lil interest in you ;)

  1. I love the flowers you made. They look seriously good in this altered project. What a great idea to alter a hot pan. You are creative for sure :)

  2. Wow! That is one fantastic altering job!! Love the pink lace and the flowers!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on my post! It inspires me to create more! xoxo :)
