Baby Cards

Hello there! I'm here to share a couple of cards with you wonderful Scrapmatts fans!

Here's how I made it:

1) Cut a cardstock to 5x10

2) Fold in half

3) Cut out gold foil cardstock to a slightly smaller size and adhere onto cardstock

4) Cut patterned paper to slight smaller size that the gold foil card and adhere to the gold foil card

5) Dab distress paint onto the chipboard of your choice and leave to dry

6) Arrange flowers and other embellishments around the chipboard

Prima Projects Galore!

Well, I'm absolutely certain my blog title just gave it away *lol*!! I'm here today (after a long hiatus at that) to share some projects I've made using Prima products over the years I've been scrapbooking. There's something about Prima that keeps one spellbound and definitely in awe.

Prima, like many of us, has come a long way. From simple, general scrapbooking and card making, it now caters for beginners to the ever famous mixed media enthusiats! I shall not take up more time, do have a look at what I have to share! ;)

Easel Card - Santa Express

Hello, hello! It's just about Christmas time and I'm sure your crafty hands are busy making beautiful handmade cards and what-nots for your loved ones :) The Doodlebug Santa Express collection screams festive! with it's bold and beautiful colours..I reckon you will agree? :)

Materials Used:

Item:4340 merry mistletoe double-sided cardstock

Item:4343 christmas confetti double-sided cardstock

Item:4373 santa express icon sticker 

Item:4374 santa express fancy frill sticker 

How I Made This:

First, Cut a cardstock to 4x12

Fold in Half

For the Top of the card into another half

Cut out another cardstock to 4x6

Embellish and adhere on top of card (on the folded side)

On the inside of the card, create a border which will act like a stand

Your easel card is done! :)

Treat Bag Interactive Slider Card

Hi there! Sharm here to show you what you can use those awesome treat bags by Doodlebug Designs for. The treat bags need not be used for the conventional treats..but can also incorporated into your paper projects in many ways. 

Some of the projects that I use the treat bags for are as follows: 

1) Storybook / Project Life Cards

2) Cards

3) Banners

4) Layouts 

5) Treat holders!

For my project today, I'd like to share with you a little interactive card I made.

Some close-ups

1) Slit a little strip about the size of the straw that comes in the pixies pack on the side of the treat bag. be careful to create the slit on only the top of the treat bag and that it doesnt cut right through the back.

(this will act as the slider).

* I would recommend that you completely open up the treat bag to do this

2) Put a flag right through the straw and cut off the protruding bits of the straw. You want it to look seamless. Further embellish with flowers etc

3) Cut a piece of cardstock to fit into the treat bag. Embellish the card and slot it into the treat bag. Make sure that part of the cardstock is visible through the slit you just created in step 1 and that it is tight enough

4) Once you have slot the card in, apply a thin line of glue on the slit (onto the cardstock) and adhere the little slider onto it. Once dried, move it back and forth to make sure it's able to move. When you move the slider flag, it should cause the little card inside the treat bag to move up

5) Gently push the card back in. Push the 'Hi' flag upwards to see the card inside the treat bag to pop-up again.

Mortar Board Shaped Box with Mini Cards

Hello there! Sharm here to share with you a little something I made using the lovely Graduation collection. I adore this collection not only cause of the cute lil ol' owl, but also cause of all that gold and silver and super awesome washi tapes!! :) It's not usual Graduation collection, but I do think it adds a differently gorgeous touch! HERE's where you can find the entire collection

The box is a Silhouette cameo file while the mini cards were put together using two different sized circle punches. Here's what I made.

A few Birthdays and a Baby Card

I seem to have a penchant for shabby chic these days... I don't know if that's what my style is...but it sure feels like it..and I love it considering I've never really had a particular style..but I would still love to explore the variety of styles out there till I find my niche..or rather my comfort zone... :)

Well, September is a super special month..started off with my birthday on the 6th, followed by mum's yesterday and then my parents anniversary this wednesday! what an eventful month! I love it! :) anyways..I received a gift from the hubs..a trip to Bali! yippie!!! my third time there!! my man sure knows what I like LOL!! and the best of all, this project here got featured on Berry71Bleu! Bliss!! :) Thank you to the team over at the blog for selecting my project! I'm ecstactic! :)

Anyhoots, here's a card I made for fun..after the many layouts, a card was totally delightful to make! and Ive been making tonnes of flowers too!! I shall be sure to share them here real soon..till then, adieu!

Gel-a-tins Thanks Card - Put A Cap On It Stamp Set

Happy Saturday everyone! I would’ve probably shared before that I’m a vintage freak and that I can never steer away from having a couple of butterflies or flowers on my layouts or cards..and this card, just proves that I love those three elements..

This month, I was lucky to get the gel-a-tins Put a Cap on it stamp set which is D E L I G H T F U L! the stamp set also has simple sentiments that you can use on it’s own, or within the cap stamp. So here’s my project, using the single simple sentiment from that set.

Smile Card - Gel-a-tins and YSS

Hey there sweets! :) I just got back from Singapore this evening and boy did I have a blast there! I got much of my supplies replenished (*lol* not that I ever run / ran out of 'em ) and there were many stores that were offering 40% off scrapbooking supplies! you wont believe it!! I'm certainly gonna make another trip there when they have their next sale!

My cousin, sis and I headed out on Saturday morning at 11am and didn't get back until 1130pm! that's how much we shopped and now i've got aching heels and a terrible headache *lol* but all worth it I tell you! :)

And I so badly wanted to update my backdated blog that I simply had to visit blog land! I havent dropped by ur blogs, but I'm certainly coming by soon..!! till then, here's a card for my YSS stint featuring the gel-a-tins Put a Cap on it stamp set :)

Hello there! can you believe it's mid week already (mid year too :P )? I'm sooo looking forward to this weekend where I'll be off to Singapore for a lil holiday with my sis & cousin! happy happy happy!~ lol! :) pssstt...I hear there's a sale goin on there too! :)

Anyhoo..as with every Wednesday, it's my turn to share a lil project for Papier with you crafty ladies! and what have I got up my sleeves for ya ? a simple lil 4x6 card with a small slot inside for you to add in some photos...a fun idea for you to try I reckon? :)

My DT kit this month had yummo Glitz Design patterned paper and Tim Holtz Coredinations Cardstock..the cardstock was a joy to play with considering it came with embossed polka dots that I could sand and squash to get a two tone effect for my handmade flower embellie..I love making my own flowers and believe you me, the Coredinations cardstock is purrfect! :)

Captured Moment - Card for YSS DT Debut

hey hey hey!! what a weekend it's been! I've been out and about & bz as a bumble bee *lol*..But I had lotsa fun nonetheless.. :) And I even got a new pressie from my grandparents place!

Wana guess wat it is? a sewing machine!!! my aunt had this old (well, mayb not so old after all) sewing machine that had just come home from being repaired and she didnt quite know wat to do wit it since she doesnt sew much these days...so (being the good samaritan that I am *wink* *wink*) I stepped rite in and decided to give the lil machine a new home..aaannnnd a new lease of life..now if I can just figure out how to use it *LOL*

Buddly Team Challenge 1 - Flowers & Lace

I had a fruitful day today, my morning started with a class on card making by me where I had lotsa fun!! :) and now I'm blogging from a different state where my grandparent's place is! :) I love it here! :)

Anyhoo, remember I shared with you ladies the other day that the awesome Cuddly Buddly is celebrating a blog hop? Well, the DT was split into 2 team, Cuddly and Buddly. And guess which team I'm on? Well, Buddly of course! *lol* (such cute names don't ya think?)

Anyhoo, the first challenge is a super sweet one from Nancy and it's all to do with Flowers & Lace! You may read more on the challenge and rules HERE (and link up your project there as well).. Cuddly Buddly DT Introductory Project

Hey there ya'll! :) Can you believe it's Thursday already! owh I so cant wait for the wknd though it's gonna be super duper hectic! Two birthdays parties on Saturday and a Baby Shower on Sunday is surely gonna make my weekend fly by!

Anyhoo, off to the reason for my posting today...It's time to share my introductory project for Cuddly Buddly with you sweeties! :) Though I had to ink this lil beauty up a couple of times before I got the shades I desired, I still had lotsa fun playin up with this stamp that was created by our Kim MacFarlane..I'm telling you, this lady is awesome! :) Check out the digi stamps created by her and whole host of other digi stamp artists HERE..you're gonna be spoilt for choice!

You Brighten My Day!

If there's one thing I've learnt in card making, it's got to be that there can never be enough fussy cutting, distressing and..layering! yeap you read it right! Layering need not only be used for scrapbooking but it works great on cards too!

And when you have beautiful papers by Basic Grey, it definitely makes it all the more difficult to avoid fussy cutting..and layering! Here's the card I'd like to share with you'll..featuring just that..layers! :)

1) Cut out cardstock to 4x12
2) Cut out three strips of patterned paper
3) Place one strip down, punch the long length of the edges on either side for the other two strips and adhere on top
4) Tuck in some fussy cut patterned papers
5) Add on a chipboard sticker / any image
6) Sentiment of course! :)

Create Card - Papier

Hey there! Today's post by me is a card using the very pretty and glitterly My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Collection Patterned Paper..I had half the mind of not cutting them up, but..a gurl's gotta do what a gurl's gotta do isn't it? *Lol*

Anyhoo..here's the card I'd like to share with ya'll..my kit this time had lotsa vintage buttons and cards..and I used one of those vintage cards for this post today..I love that lil camera image! simply gorgeous don't ya think? ;)

Just to share a few tips with you crafty friends :
1) Gesso out words / phrases that you don't want...the Gesso effect will give a vintage feel
2) Don't be afraid to glam up a vintage card further. I stamped some text images around this piece
3) Leftovers / scraps left behind by punched out portions can be assembled to form pretty flowers (like what I have done for the flowers on this card ;))

The Early Bird Gets The Kiss

Here's a lil something I made to share with YOU! my bloggy friends have been the sweetest..n I'm thankful for the pals I've made throughout this crafting journey (hope to make many more too!) :) Thank you too to all you wonderful people who gave me words of encouragement in my last post and prayed for my daughter's speedy recovery.. .she's doin better now and has already started showing her mischievious side *lol*

I havent got a big party planned for her this year..just small do with about 5 - 6 of her closest friends.. :) nutting better than a personal crowd isnt it? :)

Oh I'm so glad it's Thursday already!! *lol* can't wait for tomorrow and then it's the weekend!! DH and I have made it so that every Friday is movie night so yes! I'm looking forward to it!! lol!! ever since I started crafting, I've neglected my other hobbies like reading and movies...I'm still game with shopping thanks to the endless 'need' for supplies *hehehehe*
