LCOM - Kiddy Cards!

I'm back at playing along at LCOM! I've finally settled down into my normal routine & I must say I'm loving the challenge this week!! :) It's about kids cards this time..& I've got a lil punch art card to share ;)

Here's my take on the challenge & all those lil guys see on the card, they're all handmade & put together using different punches :)

With Father's Day just around the corner & Mr Mojo on vacation... I was stumped for ideas! Especially since I adore making flower-y cards...coming up with a masculine one was rather difficult on my creative buds! *lol* ...But Mr Postman brought me an interesting package that not only shortened Mr Mojo's vacation (I hope!), it also got me going on this sketch at Cardabilities!!...I know I'm a lil late in working on their sketch but I must say I absolutley love it cause it gives me flexibility...!

My winning RAK from SILs Blog Hop Challenge had this really neat Tiger stamp (among other beautiful goodies...Thank you sooooo much ladies! I adore the RAK :) ) which I couldn't wait to use!!

Ain't she a cutie?

I got this one going for Sketch 43 at Caardvarks..I loved this lil cutie the minute I saw her on Motivet's Free Digi Stamp and simply couldn't resist using her for my take..

It's my first time creating a card based on a sketch from Caardvarks & I absolutely loved playing along! ;) Real cute sketch by Heidi Van Laar..

Altered Project

Ever wondered what those messy wipes containers can be recycled into? I've got tonnes of them lying around...all to wipe lil miss Aneeka when she gets messy after playing with her food..! I know...I know...bad habits..but how else will she learn to eat on her own? *lol* excuses...

I've also got tonnes of ribbons lying around too! You must wondering what all this rambling is about isn't it? *hehe* Well...,I converted those messy wipes containers into inexpensive ribbon dispensers!! cool?

I store my ribbons in boxes and they often get tangled up...cause I'm not organized at all really..With this lil container, I can arrange them nicely and pull to the length desired!

I used lots of my scrapplings to deco the container. Pink and Beige cardstock were embossed and pasted on the container. I then tied a piece of green satin ribbon round the top. After that, I layered a piece of doily for a more feminine look *lol* and then made the flower embellies using punches & buttons. Finally, I added a couple of MS Butterflies. I also left the pop top on so that I can close the container when needed.

Card Patterns Sketch 61

I've been doing lots of vintage cards that I've practically 'neglected' my punch art cards *lol*..thought it'll be nice to do some of them again..I tried Sketch 61 at card patterns for this card...The sketch looked seemingly easy... but all that looks easy need not necessarily be easy peasy especially since I'm trying really hard not to use flowers and butterflies *hehe*..

Anyways..before I leave for an evening out with my bestie of 15 yrs!! , I thought it'll be nice to do a short blog entry on my take at Sketch 61..here it is folks...

My Take

My Other Card :)

The first card I made was the gold number. This is the second one! and I've got one more waiting to be photographed ;) This one's a light green one with doily, butterflies, flowers and two sizes and shades of ribbons..

The doily's from my local haberdashery, I go there practically every day that the shop owners know me by name now! *lol*

The other materials used for this card are, Butterflies - Martha Stewart Punch, Scallop Dot Edge (also Martha Stewart punch) and Flowers - Carla Craft Punch.

The edge of the opening end of the card was punched with the scallop dot edge punch to weave the ribbons through. The butterflies are from gold card stock while the flowers are of various pink shades.

Altered Project

Hi there! I'd like to share with you'll something from my kitchen today *hehe* when I say kitchen, literally, I don't mean a recipe! *lol* well...I actually found something in my mum's kitchen which lit up the creative light bulb in my head...or at least I think so ;)

I managed to quickly (quickly cause I'm supposed to be studying remember!) convert a hot pad (from IKEA) into a photo frame! Once put together, I fixed a lil hook at the back so I can hang my frame!

The hot pad is made out of asbestos so I didn't want to cover the back cause it blended pretty well with the background of my photo (which is of my sis and I in Bali). The lace was pleated and sewn together by me to create a border for the frame.

Embellishments handmade again and embossed with my dear darling Cuttlebug Machine! Love it to bits..! I used the swiss dots embossing folder to emboss the leaves and petals to give light texture. The butterflies are by Martha Stewart's very grand (and heavy!) Large Punch.
